I can't believe our little Jax has turned a year old! In some ways he was the eternal infant with him being so small for so long. However, now a year later, he weighs 23 pounds, exactly 20 pounds more than he did the day he was born. We hope you enjoy the slide show. I couldn't have wished for a better birthday for my son. We were able to go to Columbus, GA and visit some of those that took care of him (and us) while he was in the NICU. When we arrived at the Ronald McDonald House, they had cooked cupcakes for him and he loved it. We then headed over to the hospital to see as many of the staff as possible. You'll see pictures of him with some of our favs. Our deepest apologies to Evin...don't hate us...we tried to get there earlier. Amy, we thought you were working that day, but never ran into you. We will be there again this Christmas...looking forward to seeing you all. Seeing Bobby was great. He hadn't see Jax since he left the hospital, so it was a special moment for us all. We love you Amanda and Adriane!
We had Jaxon's big party on the 27th. Everyone we hoped would be there, was. Jaxon loved having "Happy Birthday" sung to him, but he loved his own personal smash cake all to himself. We were regretting letting him eat that later on that evening. He raked in the gifts and was loved on enough to last him till next year. My parents came down for the weekend and it was a blast. For those of you who have been continuously praying for my mother's health, thank you. She is doing so much better and even babysat Jax for an afternoon as Dad and I went and saw The Dark Night. I haven't been on a "date" with Dad in ages...I loved it. It was a terrific weekend and looking back, our small family has had a great year. We love being a family and I love being a mom, even when Jax is "testing" his vocal chords and screaming in my face.
To all of you who have been celebrating Jaxon's life this past year, we thank you. Jaxon has so many people who love him and that means the world to us.
